Symposium 2024
Megatrends and future markets for a sustainable revolution.
Five years after the first on-site symposium the community met again on campus – with a special focus on artificial intelligence in remanufacturing: automated quality inspection, predictive maintenance, automated disassembly and assembly, data-driven decisions and human-robot collaboration. Rolf Steinhilper, pioneer of remanufacturing technology, welcomed participants to the challenges in remanufacturing.
In numbers
- 2days on campus, 20 and 21 February 2024

Panel
Future strategy for remanufacturing
The final panel, led by Fernand Weiland with Prof. Winifred Ijomah, Hanno Großeschmidt and Søren Toft-Jensen, asked: Should remanufacturers align themselves with the new technologies of electric vehicles? Does remanufacturing need more automation and artificial intelligence? Will original manufacturers dominate the remanufacturing market? And what support can be expected from legislators and academia?
